I am an experienced computer vision professional with a PhD in Computer Science advised by Prof.Terrance E. Boult. I have lead and contributed to various projects in a short span mostly interdisciplinary, including fields such as computer vision, psychology and education to name a few.
My research lies at the intersection of affective computing, computer vision and machine learning. I acquired funding as a lead in projects within SRI International where I worked for 2.5 years and also from external sources like NSF. I cross-collaborated with the Center for Vision Technologies and the Education division to create a recommendation system for supporting collaboration as students engage in STEM learning activities as a group.In the process we divised and researched ways to quantify group collaborations in an educational setting.
During my PhD, I worked at UCCS VAST lab and collaborated with the Trauma Health and Hazards Center.I was involved in developing interactive cognitive systems that empower individuals suffering from post traumatic stress by combining sensing and context based video analysis of human behavior.As a part of this work, I was primarily focused on problems such as heart rate prediction from facial videos, engagement prediction for web-intervention and machine learning based self-efficacy methods.
I also have various publications in reputed forums with a background in human behavior analysis, mental health understanding, user modeling, sensing and adaptation.

Lead Investigator on NSF grant
Key contributor on NSF grant for Smart Connected Health, analyzing and exploring techniques for prediction of engagement using data annotated from psychologists, facial cues and sensor information.
Member of the Image Sensor Research Group, responsible for analyzing images from 3D Mesa imaging ToF camera in order to establish its drawbacks.
Part of decision-making team which included product engineers, product support and offshore managers.
Tested novel heuristic in SCRUM and Agile environments to maintain and release different product versions
